Type One Families support group

Get Involved

Getting other Type One parents involved in our mission can greatly amplify our impact. Type One Families, a compassionate haven, is dedicated to creating a supportive community for parents navigating the challenges of managing Type One Diabetes in their children.

By joining us, you’ll have access to a wide range of resources, support networks, and advocacy initiatives. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of our children and inspire others to do the same.

Some way we engage other parents, like us, are:

Create a Support Network
We leverage online forums, social media groups, or local meet-up events where Type One parents and caregivers can connect with each other. We provide platforms for them to share their experiences, seek advice, and offer support to each other. Right now we have 3 Facebook Groups up and running- South Shore Type One Moms, North Shore Type One Moms, and Cape Cod Type One Families.  Visit our Support page for local meet up information.

Host Educational Workshops
We organize workshops, retreats and webinars focusing on various aspects of managing Type One Diabetes in children, such as insulin administration, meal planning, and coping strategies. We encourage Type One caregivers to participate as both attendees and speakers, sharing their own insights and expertise.

Volunteer Opportunities
We offer opportunities for Type One caregivers to get involved directly with our non-profit’s activities. This includes volunteering at events, participating in fundraising campaigns, or contributing content for educational materials.

Parent Ambassadors and Support Group Leaders/Facilitators
We recruit passionate Type One parents like you to serve as ambassadors for Type One Families. These ambassadors can help spread awareness of our mission within their own networks, reaching more families who could benefit from local support services.
